5000L 50HL 40BBL beer brewing systems is similar with commercial brewery, the beer production capacity is large, it is normal to brew 3 - 4 batches in one day to save labor cost and meet beer production demands. In most cases, four vessel brewhouse is more popular, each tank will work independently, the brew masters can brew next batch quickly.
For four vessel beer brewing systems, the brewhouse combination is MT+ LT + KT + WT with independent HLT. Steam heating is necessary as well. MT is a vessel used for mashing, which convert starches into sugar from crushed malt, LT is used for lautering and get clarify wort. The mash tun are heated by steam, and the inside has agitator to get uniform mashing. So the mashing and lautering will be finished separately. The grain rake inside of lauter tank was designed with automatic spent grain dozer, when we finished lautering, the spent grain can be removed automatically instead of labor. KT is used to boil the wort and sterilization. During boiling, some brew masters will add hops to add beer aroma or improve beer taste, at the same time, the wort will be sterilized. Also we can design internal calandria inside of kettle tun to get vigours boiling. The whirlpool was designed with tangential inlet to remove thermal coagulum, during circulating, vortex will be formed, the big particles will be concentrated at the middle of WT, the clarify wort will be emptied from the side wort outlet.
HLT is the vessel used to recycle hot water from heat exchanger, where city water make heat exchanging with hot wort. The recycled hot water can be used for next batch mashing or sparging. Normally the capacity of HLT is 2 -3 times bigger than brewhouse. It is efficient for brew master to brew next batches or more in one day.
